One Koreitem Lane
Brooklyn living in Beirut

Project description

One Koreitem Lane takes shape as two slender kiln-fired brick volumes that pay tribute to the warmth and texture of Beirut’s history of red-tiled roofs. The brief asked for a residential complex of 94 units with 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The tower and the strip are our clear response to the brief and the two site conditions of view and envelope. On the corner of the site, the tower rises to 20 floors of single-floor apartments to enjoy the northern view of the sea and the facing LAU campus. The residential strip, located on an inner road, sets back from the street and uses a duplex configuration to elevate all the apartments and to create a unique set of 2 and 3 bedroom duplex apartments that catch the view of the Beirut’s west shoreline.
