Jeddah Sports City
Olympic fitness at the heart of the city

Project description

Proposed by Laceco to the city’s governorate, the Jeddah Sports City constituted an integral part of the New Central District master plan, with the aim of helping the Saudi city act as a regional and international hub for hosting high caliber sporting events and enhancing its national role in promoting sports. Its landscaped areas complement the green buffer bordering the city’s New Central District as well.

The Jeddah Sports City incorporates an Olympic stadium with athletic facilities and a seating capacity for 50,000 persons and a multipurpose indoor arena for 12,000 spectators. The flexible character of both the stadium and the arena increases the type of events that can be hosted while the large training camp can further serve as a rented facility for the multiple sporting activities of private teams. The Jeddah Sports City master plan also allows for the founding of related functions such as youth sports clubs and a doping control center.
